Most desks are rented, borrowed, or too nice to put screws into. Here are five ways to get the cables off the floor and out of sight that need zero drilling — ranked by how well they hold up after six months.
1. Magnetic cable clips on the underside of the desk
This is the one that solves the actual daily annoyance: the charging cable sliding off the edge and falling behind the desk. Stick the clips to the underside of the desk lip, and the cable head snaps back into place every time you unplug.
Holds up: very well, if you clean the surface with alcohol first and let the adhesive cure for 24 hours before loading it. Skipping the cure is the number one reason these fall off.
Best for: phone chargers, headphone cables, anything you unplug daily.
